AI IMPLEMENTATION IS A LEADERSHIP PROBLEM: An interview with Natalia Arcila-Barbour

Fresh off the mic! I joined Dustin Robinson on his podcast 𝘌𝘜'𝘳𝘦 𝘎𝘰𝘯𝘯𝘢 𝘓𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴, to talk about what's really holding businesses back from making AI work, and why the answer isn't what most leaders expect.

Here's the honest truth from the ground: 𝐀𝐈 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐬 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐥 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲. 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐥 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐠𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐭. A few things that stuck with me from our conversation:

- 40% of teams using AI are spending their saved time sanity-checking what AI produced. That's not productivity. That's a trust problem. And trust only comes when your data is right, your people are trained, and leadership stops treating AI as a strategy announcement and starts treating it as a co-creation effort.

 - We also unpacked some of what I took away from Davos this year, including the VUCA reality (volatility, uncertainty, complexity, ambiguity) that most businesses are still reacting to rather than building resilience around. The leaders who are pulling ahead aren't doing more. They're building the right architecture from the ground up.
